Fly-tipping – Scrap It

Welcome to the Alliance’s Fly-tipping – Scrap it campaign page

Fly-tipping is a huge blight across the UK and it's getting worse.  The unlawful dumping of rubbish robs an area of its natural beauty and spoils our enjoyment of our towns and countryside.  It can pose a threat to humans and wildlife and also damages our environment and delicate natural eco-systems.

It is time to take a stand and defeat this scourge once and for all.  The Alliance's Fly-tipping – Scrap It campaign was launched in March with Tipping Point - a special investigation which highlights the true extent of the problem across the UK.  This marked the start of a six-month period of extensive consultation and campaigning in which we asked the views of the public and several stakeholders. Over 400 submissions were received and the result is Time for Action, our recommendations to Government, which you can download here . Additionally, you can download a summary of the consultation responses here

This problem has been swept under the carpet for far too long and it is time to take a stand.  The Alliance’s investigation has exposed for the first time just how much of a burden fly-tipping puts on farmers, land-owners and indeed the tax-payer.
