The Conservative Party Manifesto, and its accompanying rural policy document, could represent a "holistic policy for a sustainable countryside".
Simon Hart, Chief Executive of the Countryside Alliance, said: "The Conservatives have made a number of commitments on environmental, social and agricultural issues which together represent a holistic policy for a sustainable countryside. "Rural people want the opportunity to make a decent living, afford a proper home and carry on their way of life without prejudice and discrimination. "With their manifesto commitments, including a Bill to overturn the Hunting Act, the Conservatives are offering much that the countryside would welcome". |
