* Designated as Game under the Game Act 1831. NB It is illegal to shoot woodcock, snipe, wild duck and geese, coot, moorhen and golden plover on Christmas Day in England, Scotland and Wales, and on Sunday in Scotland and in the following English and Welsh counties (or former counties) and county boroughs: Anglesey, Brecknock, Caernarfon, Cardigan, Carmarthen, Cornwall, Denbigh, Devon, Doncaster, Glamorgan, Great Yarmouth County Borough, Isle of Ely, Leeds County Borough, Merioneth, Norfolk, Pembroke, Somerset and the North and West Ridings of Yorkshire.
