And they are off......! The Harkaway Club went to post early, kicking off the season in this region on 28 December 2009. Now most of the runners start to get underway with Hereford and Shropshire seeing the respective counties first Point-to-Points of the season.

 A controversial court case involving covert surveillance has been dramatically dropped the day before the trial at Bournemouth Magistrates Court was set to start. The case was a second prosecution against an employee of the South Dorset hunt based on evidence collected by the League Against Cruel Sports.
