The Ribble Valley Food Trail has won a “Highly Commended” prize at the prestigious Countryside Alliance Awards finals in London. A team from Ribble Valley Borough Council accepted the commendation in the Enterprise category. The Food Trail claimed the North West regional title in February, propelling it into the national final where it was up against 11 other regional winners from across England, Wales and Scotland. The Awards were announced at a House of Lords reception on 18th March. |

Four local businesses are celebrating winning North West regional titles in the Countryside Alliance Awards and will now vie for a national title against winners from the rest of Britain.
The Countryside Alliance Awards celebrate the skills, produce, traditions and enterprise of the countryside through the characters who work so hard to make it tick. The Awards are run across 12 UK regions, with each region’s winners then going forward to the national finals, which will be held at the House of Lords in London on 18th March. Regional finalists were announced late in 2008, judging then took place and the winners have now been declared:

Judging will now take place, and regional winners will be announced in the New Year. Overall UK winners will be revealed at a House of Lords reception on 18th March 2009. |
