Countryside Alliance supporter, 11 year old Nelson Bacon and his ferret, Gordon, have just completed a 10-mile sponsored walk to raise funds for their favourite cause.
Nelson, from Shipton under Wychwood in Oxfordshire, hunts with the Heythrop and was keen to raise funds for something he believes passionately in. He and Gordon raised £100 for the Alliance. |

 Encouraging and embracing the younger generation is a vital ingredient in securing a long term future for all forms of hunting – after all, what is the point of fighting this battle if, in 20 years time, there are no young people interested in country sports? The hunting community is facing its biggest challenge yet and in order for hunting to survive, it must become more available and attractive, in particular to young people. |

Almost without exception, the aim of our campaigning activity is to educate, raise awareness and improve peoples understanding of countryside issues, in particular hunting with dogs. Ranging from the public, the media and politicians to school children and people within our own community – education is vitally important to the long-term future of our activities. |
