 The greatest gathering of hounds in the country is set to take place on 16th July 2008. Over 1,500 hounds representing over 100 packs from across the country and overseas will be taking centre stage in the Festival of Hunting at the East of England Showground in Peterborough.

With Newmarket Countryside Race Day fast approaching, the Race Day committee is delighted to open an 85-lot silent auction to racegoers and non-racegoers alike. On the Race Day, the silent auction will be open from 11.15am until 4.00pm next to the Parade Ring. Lots include a morning on the gallops, a flying lesson, tickets for Glyndebourne, tickets for rugby at Twickenham, tickets for Burghley Horse Trials, hunting, shooting and much more. Ahead of the 2008 Newmarket Countryside Race Day, to be held on the NatWest Rowley Mile Racecourse on Sunday 25th May, the committe has pleasure in publishing the 2008 Provisional Main Auction Lots (NB lots will be fully described and numbered at the time of the main auction). Lots include hunting, shooting (including a grouse shooting lot), fishing, wine tasting, a holiday in Spain and ski ing - please read on for more information on the lots.

 Newmarket Racecourses will host the Countryside Family Fun Day, on Sunday 25th May, at the NatWest Rowley Mile Racecourse. Since its inception in 1992, the raceday has raised over £1m for the Countryside Alliance and two annually selected charities. The 2008 charities are Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and Norfolk & Norwich Association for the Blind. |
