On Saturday 16th December Tony Andrews, Chief Executive of the Scottish Countryside Alliance wrote an article in the Scotsman entitled "This first class service deserves your support".

The article was about the Government's decision to close 2,500 Post Offices, and Tony was quick to point out that the Drumbeg stores and Post Office in Sutherland, judged as Scotland's Best Rural Retailers and central to their community, are a perfect example of what we stand to lose. The community theme of the competition is also relevant as we fight to save our Post Office network.
